Coaching Structure



At the ISEC a typical coaching assignment will have the following structure:

 The contracting phase

  • Understand the need of the client organization regarding the coaching assignment
  • Both the client and coach interact with each other and decide in going ahead with the assignment
  • The contract is made in terms of who is the sponsor , the client, the support mechanisms for the assignment to work and how much of the client's programs can be discussed with the sponsor

Planning and Assessments

  • Familiarizing the coach with the client’s challenges while retaining the ownership with the client
  • Hold discussions with the client's direct reports and the client's manager to get various perspectives
  • Draw a road map and decide on the context for the coaching assignment

Coaching Assignment

  • Conduct live coaching sessions
  • Regular reports to the sponsoring organization updating the progress of the client.

The Way Forward

  • Towards the end of the assignment the debriefing takes place to understand how did the assignment go overall
  • The plan of action for the development for the coachee , independent of the coach
